This collection of wedding album photographs depicts the wedding of Clara Day and Myron Glenn Turner and consists of 14 8x10 black and white photocopies and negatives. The bride, groom, and their families are viewed at various stages of the wedding, including a meeting with Marie Bankhead Owen, the Director of the Alabama Dept. of Archives and History, who donated the wedding dress. The 35mm. negatives have been logged in the 35mm. negative register and are filed in the negative file.

On 28 May 1949 Clara Anne Day and Myron Turner were married. The bride was selected by Marie Bankhead Owen to wear an original French gown received by the state of Ala. from the City of Lyon on the "Merci" or French Gratitude Train. The French Gratitude Train was part of French effort to thank Alabamians for their support of the Marshall Plan after WWII. After the wedding the state legislature of Alabama named the Turners good-will ambassadors during their honeymoon in France. ...
